Need help getting to the library?
Here's how we can help!

Materials and Equipment

  • Large print books, magazines, dictionary and world atlas.
  • Books on Tape and CD (visually impaired patrons can check out five tapes or CDs at no charge).
  • DVS (Descriptive Video Service) videocassettes with voice-over description.
  • Applications for Books Aloud and California State Talking Book Library.
  • ZoomText Xtra screen magnifier on an Internet PC
  • IBM Home Page Reader on an Internet PC
  • Aladdin closed-circuit TV magnifier (magnifies print 25x)
  • Hand-held magnifiers
  • Product catalogs for people with disabilities.
  • Information clearinghouse about independent living.

Programs and Services

  • A free wheelchair van to and from the library operates one Saturday per month.  The library's Saturday Series program is also scheduled at 11AM on this day.
  • Outreach volunteers deliver books to Menlo Park residents who are homebound or in convalescent hospitals.
  • To make your library visits easier, staff can help you locate materials and carry them to the van.  If you can’t come in very often, we can extend the loan periods on your books.
